MW Booking

The “booking appointment” will probably occur between 8-12 weeks of your pregnancy. It marks the start of the care and support you will receive from your doctor or midwife throughout your pregnancy. They will have a set series of topics to go through with you, but if there’s anything you want to talk to your midwife or doctor about, you can also ask at this appointment. You can also bring up subjects at any other appointment – these might include domestic abuse or violence, sexual abuse, or female genital mutilation (FGM). Your birth plan may be changed if you have had FGM, so it’s important for you and your baby to tell your doctor or midwife. Remember they know exactly what to do and they will welcome you telling them early on. The EP midwives’ bundles were advised by the Whittington hospital Midwifery team in London, UK.
