Puberty is the process by which a child develops into a sexually mature adult. The first outward sign of puberty in girls is the development of breasts but there is lots of hidden development happening inside a girl’s body as well. In boys, their brain development lags behind physical development and they can face huge physical changes in a few short years. It’s really helpful for parents to understand these changes so they can be supportive to their children in what can be quite a difficult transitional time.
